Full case study

I redesigned the website of the Israeli Vegan-Friendly Association upon learning of my vegan friends' concerns about it. Vegan-Friendly is a well-known and successful organization. It requires a modern, user-friendly online presence to match its reputation. I recognized the need for an urgent revamp to ensure compatibility with their esteemed standing and provide a better experience for all users.
Analyzing the current site design
The Issues:
The excessive amount of information and text, combined with the lack of proper organization, significantly complicates users' efforts to find desired content. Furthermore, the multitude of categories leads to feelings of overwhelm and confusion among users, often motivating them to exit the site.
There is a lack of clear focus, causing users to struggle in deciding where to direct their attention and clicks. This can result in users overlooking important features, such as registering for a subscription to the association.
The visibility and usability of the site are inconsistent, and some of the features do not function correctly, causing further frustration and disappointment for users.
The existing design is severely outdated, creating a lack of trust in the website and failing to engage users effectively.

The improvements I made (will be more specified later)
1. Adjusting colors.
2. Reducing the page count from 9 to 5.
3. Guiding users to essential areas.
4. Improving content organization.
5. Introducing a new feature to showcase vegan products.
6. Revamping Design.
The design
1. Adjusting colors
Addressing color issues by replacing problematic choices that do not comply with accessibility guidelines. Here is one example from the website:
New colors
2. Page count
Reducing the number of pages from 10 to 5, with a clear distinction between main categories and subcategories. For instance, I merged pages like "Who We Are," "Projects," "Collaborations," "Career/Jobs," and "Contact" into a single "About Us" category. Similarly, I consolidated content like recipes, health articles, and more into the "Blog" category, allowing users to easily filter content by subject.
3. Essential areas
Guiding users to key areas including association subscription registration, donation options, and engagement in association activities through memberships and volunteering. Additionally, centralizing crucial messages on the homepage for maximum visibility and accessibility.
Exploring the UI of the information cards
4. Content organization
Enhancing content organization for improved efficiency and introducing search filters to facilitate swift access to relevant information.
I reorganized the association projects to make them less intimidating to read and relocated them to the 'About' page
5. New feature
Introducing a feature that showcases vegan products endorsed by the association, complete with links to external websites.
6. Revamping Design
Implementing a modern, user-friendly, and visually appealing design that is more likely to engage users and encourage them to register and actively use the site.
